Practical ways you can use the verb form of Present Simple Tense

There are several ways to use the verb forms and types of tenses in your daily conversations with people.

What I have done is given an example of using the verb form of present simple tense in a normal and realistic conversation.

Simple present tense in spoken english

Here is a scenario: Raj talks to Rohit on the phone

Raj: Hello Rohit, Raj here.

Rohit: Hello Raj, how are you?

Raj: Very fine. What about you?

Rohit: I am good, thank you. What are you doing?

Raj: Nothing much. Just waiting for Akash. We are planning to play badminton.

What is your plan? Why don’t you join us?

Rohit: I am so sorry Raj, I have to prepare for an interview. The interview is tomorrow. I don’t have time.

Raj: That’s a great news! My best wishes to you.

Rohit: Thank you so much Raj. I hope it goes well!

Raj: Do call me tomorrow once you are back from the interview.

Rohit: Yes, sure. Convey my regards to Akash. I don’t see him nowadays. He seems to be very busy with his job! What kind of job does he do? Does he have shifts?

Raj: Yes, he is very busy, he works in a software company and this week he has an evening shift. So he comes to play with me .

Rohit: That’s great. Playing some kind of sport refreshes our mind and body. So we'll try to catch up whenever we get time.

Raj: Absolutely. Anyway, you continue with your preparation and do well in the interview.

Rohit: Oh yes! See you soon. Bye.
